EATS THE WAY: Chef Nirmal reparing a dish. (TOI Photo)The foodies with a penchant for Mexican and Chinese dishes lucked out when Chef Mahendra Thapa of Culture Caf, a popular restaurant, gave Lucknowites a demo of how to rustle up some mouth-watering dishes. While he tossed up tempting recipes like Veg Mexican Rice, Crispy Asian Chicken Salad and Chicken Fettuccine Pasta, he also deftly answered the queries of the audience.
Among those who turned up to brush up their culinary skills were students, homemakers, social activists and many more. Sadhana Mehrotra and Rajya Laxmi Kakkar were seen taking down notes. So was Nisha Bora, who told LT that she would love to try out the recipes at home. While Bharat Asthana and Ravi Pandey, students of hotel management, told us that they enrolled for the cookery session organised by Lucknow Times for the ongoing LuckNow campaign because they loved the food served at the caf and especially the dishes made by Chef Thapa. Rahul and Neha Ahuja, owners of the Cultures World Caf Chain, too came all the way from Kanpur to witness the session. When asked what they thought about such initiatives, they said: This is the first time we have witnessed something like this and we feel more such events should be planned specially for those who enjoy good food.
